Getting started
The questions we hear most often
Services, pricing, working with us remotely, and what a fractional CFO actually does. The essentials, first.
What services does SMAART Advisors offer?
Business consulting, fractional CFO services, finance consulting, business valuations, M&A and exit strategy, buy/sell transaction advisory, restructuring, technology and digital transformation, procurement, financial planning, and retirement planning. One team covers strategy through execution.
How much do your services cost?
Every engagement runs on a fixed scope and fixed fee defined in a written statement of work, no hourly meter and no surprise invoice. The initial consultation is free, and you will have a written quote before any work begins.
What is the difference between a fractional CFO and a business consultant?
A Fractional CFO embeds into your business for ongoing financial leadership, forecasting, cash flow and reporting. A business consultant advises on a specific strategic question or project. Many clients use both, often on the same team.
Do you work with businesses outside of Florida?
Yes. We are headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL, but advise founders and owners in all 50 states and abroad, fully remote through our encrypted client portal, or in person by appointment.
Can you help us prepare for a sale, merger, or acquisition?
Yes. Our valuations, M&A and exit strategy, and buy/sell advisory teams handle every phase, from valuation and due diligence through deal structuring, negotiation and closing.
How do I get started?
Book a free consultation. We will review your situation, scope a fixed fee, and show you exactly what we would do differently, no pressure and no obligation.
Strategy & savings
Proactive strategy, bigger impact
Why year-round advisory beats a once-a-year strategy session, and where the $50M+ in identified savings actually comes from.
What's the difference between business consulting and a fractional CFO?
Consulting advises on a specific strategic question or project. A fractional CFO embeds into your business for ongoing financial leadership, forecasting, cash flow and reporting. We do both, and many clients use them together, one to set the strategy, the other to run the numbers behind it.
How much can proactive financial strategy actually save my business?
It varies with your situation, but across our clients we have identified more than $50M in combined savings, cost, margin and tax work included. The bigger the business, the more pricing, structure, and timing decisions move the number. We show you the projected impact before you engage, so the plan pays for itself before you commit.
I just started a business. When should I bring in an advisor?
As early as possible. The entity you choose and the financial systems you set up in year one shape your business for years. Engaging us at the start lets us set up your structure, reporting and financial planning correctly and start advising before the first major decision, not scramble to fix it later.
Do you handle complex situations: multi-entity, equity structures, international operations?
Yes. Multi-entity structures, equity and cap table questions, cross-border operations, complex ownership, these are exactly the situations generic advice gets wrong. Every engagement is led by a credentialed CPA, fractional CFO, or valuation specialist who owns the outcome.
Risk advisory & resolution
We help you get ahead of the risk
Compliance exposure, financial distress and difficult notices: handled by credentialed professionals so you never face them alone.
Can you help if we are facing a financial or compliance risk?
Yes. Our risk advisory practice covers cybersecurity risk, fraud prevention and regulatory risk strategy: we assess exposure, prioritize the fixes that matter, and build the controls that prevent the next issue instead of reacting to it.
Our business is struggling financially. What are our options?
More than you'd think. Cost restructuring, vendor renegotiation, cash flow triage, and a full turnaround plan are all on the table depending on your situation. We assess which path realistically stabilizes the business and execute it alongside your team.
We received a concerning financial or regulatory notice. Should we be worried?
Don't panic, and don't respond without a plan. Many notices are routine, but the wording, and the deadline, matters. Send it to us before you respond. We'll tell you exactly what it means, what's actually at stake, and coordinate the response with your legal and tax teams.
Working with us
Fees, reach & how it works
Fixed-fee pricing, multi-state operations, and what sets SMAART Advisors apart.
How much do your services cost?
We quote a fixed engagement fee up front, based on the scope of your project, defined in a written statement of work, no hourly meter and no surprise invoice mid-engagement. The initial consultation is free, and you will have a transparent quote before any work begins.
Do you work with clients outside of Florida?
Yes. We are headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL, but advise founders and owners in all 50 states and abroad, fully remote through our encrypted client portal, or in person by appointment.
Can you help with a business operating across multiple states or countries?
Yes. Multi-state operations, remote-work allocation, and cross-border structuring are a core part of what we do. One team handles the strategic, financial and coordination pieces together, so nothing falls between the cracks. We coordinate closely with your accounting and tax team on the filings themselves.
What makes SMAART Advisors different from other consulting firms?
Over 2,000 businesses served, more than 20 years of combined expertise, and a team of CPAs, fractional CFOs and valuation specialists, all under one roof. We stay engaged through execution instead of handing you a deck, quote fixed fees up front, and are financially grounded because SMAART also handles accounting and tax. That's a breadth of expertise most consulting firms simply can't match.
